Great Atmosphere and Turnout at ACERCA’s Vancouver Event

We were pleased to see such strong attendance and an engaging atmosphere at ACERCA’s event this past Friday, May 16th, held at the West Point Grey Community Centre in Vancouver, BC.

With the theme "Urban Planning: Strategies and Implementations" and guided by the slogan "Driving the Future of Our Cities in the Era of Digital and Technological Transformation", the event featured three speakers who explored the topic from diverse perspectives. Their presentations offered valuable insights on how to shape the cities of tomorrow more efficiently, with a focus on the three E’s: Energy, Environment, and Economy.

We were deeply honoured by the presence of His Excellency Alfredo Martínez Serrano, Ambassador of Spain to Canada, and the Former BC Premier and Canada Minister of Health Honourable Ujjal Dosanjh.

Special thanks to our speakers for their insightful contributions:

  • Eduard Cubi – Co-leader of the Climate Team at Introba, leading low-carbon, resilient strategies for governments and public institutions.
  • Pilar Fernández de Velasco – Technical Director at AECON, with over 20 years of experience in Rail and Transit Infrastructure across Canada.
  • Omar Tahmiscic – Mechanical Engineer and founder of Vancouver Kids Bike Share, empowering young families through early cycling confidence and community advocacy.
